So much for the “Board of Peace.” Donald Trump, who rode two presidential campaigns railing against endless wars, globalist adventurism, and the catastrophic arrogance of Iraq, has now launched what may become the most dangerous American military gamble in a generation. In close alignment with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he has opened major combat operations against Iran — not as a narrowly tailored strike, not as a last-resort defensive action, but as an openly articulated attempt at regime change. There was no UN mandate, no meaningful congressional authorization, and no clearly articulated postwar plan. There was simply force, timing, and the promise that once American bombs had done their work, “the people of Iran” would somehow take it from there.
